Just Thursday Bloghop ~ Celebrating the Mundane

Already a week has gone by — but what a difference a week can make! We were considering the risk of flooding here, with the snow/ice melt, and now there’s a great risk of grass fires.

For this week’s blog hop, I’ve chosen a blue photo. There actually was a thought behind this … guess it must have been ‘recycling’. The label on the pen says that it’s made out of 89% recycled material, and since it’s the same colour as the water bottle, which hopefully will be recycled … get it?! LOL

Take a picture of something you see or use every day, write a little something about it, and post a link to your blog here in the comments section. Also, check out Mara’s and Myfanwy’s blogs.

Just Thursday blog hop ~ Celebrating the mundane

Perhaps not so mundane, but it’s something I see every day. It sits here, on my desk, right in front of me. It used to belong to my maternal grandfather. Its intended use was to stamp your signature on a lacquer seal, like they used to do on envelopes way back in time. My grandpa was born 1872 so … Unfortunately, there’s nothing engraved in it, but it’s a nice bird, that I’ve managed to keep throughout my life of many moves.

Myfanwy is hosting this blog hop this week, so if you feel like it; take a photo of something you see or use every day, write a few lines about it and post the link to your post in the comments section in her blog.

Just Thursday Bloghop ~ Minding the Mundane

It’s Thursday again! Where did this week go … time really flies, huh!

Take a closer look at something that’s either in front of you right now, or something else that you use or see every day. Take a picture of it, and perhaps write a few words, and post it to your blog. This week, @maraeastern is hosting this event, so please go check out her post, and leave a link to yours in the comments.

I took this picture two days ago. Wanted something white and blue that I was going to use as a header image in another blog. However, this, if anything, really fits the subject! The Magic Mouse 🙂

What’s in front of you today? What do you see every day? Why not join in? Don’t forget to visit Myfanwy and Mara to see their offerings this week too. Please link back to this post so we can come and visit.

The above is certainly something I see every day, with very few exceptions. We have two elevators in the building. That’s a good thing as one is not enough. That’s something we all became painfully aware of last year, when they were renovating them. We only had one running, for about six months. It could have been a social event «Get to know your Neighbour», but when you’ve waited for ages for the elevator to arrive, and then you’re like packed sardines in there …. nah!

All is good now, and the best thing is they’ve started to wire the buildings for fibre optics now!!! Last night they were here, on our floor! Yay!

So … take a pic of something mundane, perhaps write a few lines about it you feel like it. Post a link to your blog in Myfanwy’s comments and we’ll all be linked in this bloghop 🙂

blog hop is back ~ new and improved!

@nuvofelt, @maraeastern and I started a blog hop back in December last year. Due to circumstances like illnesses, moving house et cetera … quite often referred to as «Life», the blog hop has been on a prolonged hiatus.

We talked and agreed upon the following: The theme for this blog hop will be «Mind the Mundane» or just “something you see or use every day”.

So, in short, here’s how to go about it:

  • Shoot a picture of it, write a few words about it, if you feel like it.
  • Tag your post with “just thursday” so it can easily be found
  •  link to this post.
  • Post a link to your post here, in the comments section

Take a peek at the others too. The linking and making new connections … that’s the fun part about a blog hop.

So here’s mine for this week: DSC_5377.NEF-min

Just Thursday Bloghop ~ What do you like about Winter?

For this week’s bloghop, Mara is asking us «What do you like about Winter?»

To me, Winter means Snow. No snow, no winter. I love the freshly fallen, powdery snow, when it’s about 10 below! However, I don’t like the slushy, dirty type you get in late March/April.

Always loved that special winter light in the late afternoon, but even more so since I started taking photos. It’s something so special about it — even the emerald green of the Mallard’s head gets a different shade.

qc2007:08If I had to shovel, perhaps I’d love Winter a little less. Ahh … the convenience of apartment living! 🙂 I will never forget the Winter of 2007/08, when we were still living in Quebec. I’ve never seen that much snow in my whole life. It started to snow some time in October, and it just never stopped.

Here, a little selection of pictures to illustrate why I love Winter!

What do you like about Winter? Write a blog about it, and post a link in the comments. Check out the others too, perhaps we can get this bloghop going. Next week I’ll be hosting and then Myfanwy over at Nuvofelt.

Just Thursday Blog Hop: What Do You See Every Day?

mac-minNuvofelt is hosting this week’s “Just Thursday” bloghop, that Mara and I [and hopefully many more of you] take part in.

As soon as the topic “What do you see every day” came up, I thought about the iPhone.  Mara beat me to it, but after a lot of consideration I’ve decided to go along the same lines: the computer … my MacBook. I took the picture with the iPad, in order to get the phone in the same frame. Continue reading “Just Thursday Blog Hop: What Do You See Every Day?”

Just Thursday Bloghop ~ What’s your favourite time of day?

Morning! The older I get, the more I seem to turn into a morning-person. Sometimes, it’s pitch dark and pouring rain, like today … other days I get to watch a glorious sunrise! In any event … I enjoy the feeling of having a new day in front of me … like a blank sheet of paper, ready to be filled with …something good. I seem to ‘think clearer’ in the morning … I’m more present and aware of my blessings.

What is your precious time of the day? Let me know in a comment or blog about it and share a link to your post. My co-hosts, Nuvofelt and Mara, and I will be around to visit your blogs and chat with you.

NOT today

The next “Just Thursday” blog hop is subsequently happening next Thursday and your host will be me. Join any time, Thursday or not, and enjoy!

Just Thursday ~ what gets you going?

muggenWithout coffee, I wouldn’t be able to proceed with my day. I’ve written about this several times before, so for this post I’ll just try and explain what’s going on with JUST THURSDAY.

JUST THURSDAY is part of something new … it’s a BLOG HOP! What gets you going in the morning? Do you eat porridge? I can’t eat anything at all until I’ve had my coffee.

Took a new picture of one of my favourite mugs … it does have a handle, which isn’t visible, because I wanted to display the text. In Swedish, mug is spelled with two G:s.

SUNDBORNThe point of this blog hop is to, hopefully, meet new bloggers and link to one another.

How to take part?

Post your pictures and/or stories about what gets you going in the morning. Link back to this post and leave a comment there.

Next week there will be a Just Thursday prompt from Mara, who will link to me for the following week. Don’t forget to check out the current posts for Just Thursday from my fellow collaborators
